Counsel/Senior Counsel
The candidate will provide legal and regulatory support to the firm business unit (automobile and homeowners). Will serve in the underwriting, policy forms and rating, marketing and field operations. Be responsible for supporting business partners in filings, market conduct exams, consumer complaints and general regulatory and compliance matters. Proactively counsels business clients on legal and regulatory risks and obligations in personal insurance matters, including product development, servicing the business, regulatory compliance, market conduct exams and consumer complaints, advertising, billing, direct market distribution, agency and field contractual and other business-related issues. Participates in regular meetings of business clients in order to provide strategic leadership, advice and practical solutions. Proactively identifies and communicates risk to internal and/or external customers and provides recommendation on how to mitigate risk. Reviews marketing materials and other communications to ensure accurate representation of products. Researches legal precedents and principles within area of specialization or expertise. Maintains awareness of judicial climate and legal developments through review of legal publications, on-line documentation and attendance at seminars and conferences. Communicates relevant law changes and counsels business partners regarding changes. Builds and maintains strong client relationships. Should have a J.D. degree. Should be admitted to the CT Bar in good standing. Must have 3-6 years of prior legal experience. Experience with e-commerce, digital marketing, telemarketing, online behavioral advertising, or consumer and data privacy laws is a plus.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
