UI/UX Creative Web Developer within the eBusiness Technology Team
Summary:
The eBusiness Technology area seeks a UI web developer with full life cycle application development skills to support efforts related to development and support of Enterprise websites and web applications. eBusiness technology is responsible for the development and support of web applications and services used by multiple lines of business across the corporation such as such as , Inside, AgentHQ and MyTravelers.
Primary Duties:
In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web-based and mobile applications and web sites using modern UI practices. Specific required skill sets include semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript (Primary focus of JavaScript). Candidate should have a strong grasp of developing cross-browser compatible web sites and be familiar with various forms of web standards compliance (W3C, WCAG). Candidate should also be familiar with progressive enhancement and responsive design techniques. The primary focus of this position will be client-side application development. Experience working to bridge the gaps with server side developers is preferred.

Experience Required:
- Candidate must have a core understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (not just frameworks). JavaScript will be the core responsibility.
- Prior work on major .coms preferred (candidate should be able to provide examples of work)
- Candidate should have a strong grasp of developing cross-browser compatible web sites and be familiar with various forms of web standards compliance.
- Experience using JavaScript Libraries and frameworks (Backbone, Angular, Ember, JQuery, Bootstrap, Less, etc.).
- Experience in Progressive Enhancement and Responsive Design.
- Ability to work closely with creative team in developing highly collaborative solutions.
- Experience with Photoshop.
- Experience with a source-code repository (Subversion is the preferred code-management solution).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with single page application design.
- Experience with a server-side web development language/environment.
- Knowledge and experience with object-oriented design principles and practices.
- Strong technical, analysis, debugging and problem-resolution skills.
- Ability to independently keep abreast of new technology.
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn new applications and technologies.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at same time.
- Ability to work under pressure.
