POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Group Insurance Claims manages the life benefits portfolio to ensure strategies are developed, resources are managed, and appropriate decision-making occurs to meet business objectives.
Requirements and fundamental components include:
- Responsible for claim results by promoting competent claim and risk management. Has responsibility for claim financial results by promoting competent claim and risk management of multi-million dollar book of business.
- Establishes a clear vision aligned with company values. Motivates others to balance customer needs and business success.
- Identifies and analyzes the impact from both upstream and downstream contributors to problems while partnering across business functions to proactively resolve developing service delivery issues.
- Manages and monitors daily workflow and reporting to ensure business objectives are maintained and accurately reported.
- Hires, coaches, develops, evaluates, compensates and monitors staff to provide effective claim management services while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Attracts, selects, and retains high caliber, diverse talent able to successfully achieve and exceed business goals.
- Develops and participates in presentations to internal and external customers.
- Serves as a change agent to drive change across the organization.
- Consistently role models leadership behaviors and Aetna Values to drive a high performing culture and achieve operational excellence.
Required Skills:
LIFE CLAIMS EXPERIENCE AND HEALTH INSURANCE EXPERIENCE A MUST
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
