Support Required Equity review for new product development
o Work with pricing/business teams to understand risks posed by new products / product variations and jumbo transactions (PRT)
o Develop recommended approach to reflect risk within Required Equity for both pricing and reporting and/or review application of methodology to jumbo transactions
o Gain necessary support from ERM and Treasury
Implementation of Required Capital into business operations
o Continue thought leadership on RAC methodology across the enterprise to refine methodology approach where appropriate - most significantly for Stable Value - and gain necessary buy-in from ERM and Treasury
o Incorporate Required Capital into new product pricing analysis for all Retirement products:
work with pricing teams to incorporate into models,
analysis to understand impact of changes,
develop and gain approval of product level hurdle rates within Required Capital framework,
develop support from business & senior leaders to implement in pricing,
monitor impact of any changes to pricing capital from shifts in the expected sale mix.
o Incorporate calculation of Required Capital for existing business into business reporting & forecasting process in advance of a cutover to Required Capital
o Identify and pursue opportunities to improve business results under Required Capital
o Socialize the Required Capital methodology and implications with leaders and business partners
Understand and influence risk limit framework and allocation among businesses / products
o Identify risk constraints to business growth
o Partner with Treasury to pursue structuring solutions to increase available risk budget
o Provide analysis and recommendation for product risk allocation if constraints are binding
o Influence thought process on these issues across the enterprise
Strong conceptual and quantitative understanding of risks borne by insurance products and how they are reflected in both regulatory and economic capital constructs.
Strong financial understanding of the impact of capital on product pricing and profitability reporting.
Strong presentation and communication skills to effectively distill complicated ideas and results into actionable information that can drive decisions.
Ability to convey a sense of urgency and work effectively with internal business partners to drive action.
Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with high quality standards.
FSA, CFA and/or CERA designations desirable but not required.
Demonstrated track record of achievement.
Capable of learning quickly and working well in a strong team environment.
