Shipman& Goodwin LLP, a Connecticut based law firm with over 160 lawyers inConnecticut and Washington, D.C., has an opening in its Hartford office for anexperienced litigation paralegal to join its thriving national tort and productliability defense practice.
The position will focus on pharmaceutical andmedical device litigation.
Candidates must have four plus years ofexperience working on complex federal and state court litigation cases, with afocus on defending major tort and product liability lawsuits preferred.
Applicants must have experience with drafting correspondence, motions,pleadings and discovery; e-filing; digesting depositions; performing paper andelectronic discovery; cite-checking; reviewing medical charts and records;preparing medical chronologies and timelines and summarizing medication andtreatment care; and maintaining case calendars and files.
Familiaritywith state and federal court rules and procedures is essential.
Proficiency in Case Map and Summation Pro and/or Concordance is preferred as isexperience with Time Matters.
A Bachelor's degree and/or paralegalcertificate is required.
The successful candidate will be a self-starterwho is highly motivated, detail-oriented and disciplined and who possessesexcellent organizational skills.
