Family Litigation Paralegal

Job Description
We are seeking a full-time litigation paralegal to join our team and work primarily with our family law cases. An ideal candidate is someone who is very organized, has attention to detail, possessing sharp critical thinking skills, has both excellent written and verbal communication skills, works well with clients and has a team player mentality. Additionally, qualified candidates must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and related legal software.
A successful candidate will need to be able to act as an extension to an attorney by performing an array of tasks. Such responsibilities include but are not limited to procuring, handling and organizing case files, drafting pleadings and other legal documents, managing calendars, document review and summarization, and handling client contact.

Job Responsibilities
Issue spotting on substance and process with willingness to express independent views
Preparing case files including organizing them into a meaningful manner for the attorney
Drafting court related documents and preparing cases for trial
Communicating with current or potential clients as well as court representatives or individuals affiliated with cases
Coordinating schedules to handle changes and potential conflicts.
Deadline monitoring
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area
Familiarity with Superior and Family Court procedures is required
Knowledge of other legal areas such as PI, malpractice, SSD, employment and worker's compensation is ideal but not required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Abacus, Casemap and Timeslips as well would be helpful but not required)
Must have a team-player mentality
Strong attention to detail
High organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Sharp critical thinking skills
Must have good people skills.
Familiarity with Superior and Family Court procedures is required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
