Hybrid Systems Engineer
An employer is seeking a mid-senior level System Engineer to join their team in Hartford, CT on a hybrid basis.
This position is for one of the State of Connecticut's executive departments developing the next generation Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS).
This department has invested significant resources to ensure that Connecticut has efficient, economic, and effective tools to aid their child welfare staff, providers, and the children and families of Connecticut.
This System Engineer will participate in the deployment and maintenance of the business systems and will primarily focus on the core infrastructure design, installation, and support.
The System Engineer will be responsible for deployment, support, and ongoing maintenance and management of a VMware Virtual infrastructure and provide implementation, maintenance, and support for Windows Servers and Clusters, Veeam, HP Blades and storage as well as other applications and systems.
The System Engineer should have a strong understanding of VMware and virtual environments, as well as network and data management methodologies.
They should have expertise in working closely with application developers and business users to provide reliable systems, and have implementation background for storage area networks and virtual environments.
They will support production, staging, and development environments including patching and backups.
They will also support SQL Server and.
NET applications, help with IT security, and assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of Information Technology Operations Administration, ITIL, and Microsoft Operations Framework.
