2/15/2024 Purpose Performs a variety of functions that includes but not limited to:
teller, account opening, clerical duties and member service.
Must possess knowledge of credit union philosophy, organization, bylaws and operational procedures so as to answer questions of a general nature.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Present to members a pleasant personality and a neat appearance when transacting with them.
Assist members with all teller duties including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, payments, sales, and demonstrate an understanding of all the credit union's products and services.
2.
Operates computer terminal for transactions, member status or to input information.
3.
At close of business, will balance cash and summarize daily activity.
4.
Assist members in opening and closing of accounts or making changes to existing accounts.
Will learn to use operational issues as opportunities to cross-sell credit union services.
5.
Provide routine information concerning the credit union services or policy.
This includes:
what the credit union is; eligibility for membership and how to apply; types of accounts available; loan policy; interest rates; payroll deductions and direct deposit information, etc.
6.
Handle loan applications and payoffs.
7.
Provide monetary instruments as requested and maintain records, using knowledge of BSA and OFAC requirements.
If no experience with BSA, AML and OFAC must learn policies within 30 days.
8.
Complete and forward all members payroll changes.
9.
Process returned (no forwarding address) mail and conform to Red Flag procedures.
10.
Provide members with loan applications and other documents as required.
11.
Attend educational seminars to develop skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
12.
Make recommendations for improvements in efficiency in office operations.
13.
Train as lending backup (must have or be able to obtain an NMLS number) 14.
Any other duties that supervisor deems appropriate.
There are special aspects to financial services for first responders, and a competent MSR will learn the ins and outs of their payroll process, their borrowing needs, and how to solve common problems for these members.
A creative mind is preferred, along with a can-do attitude that will allow the MSR to help create a positive, professional, and enthusiastic image for everyone who visits the credit union.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
