This position performs a variety of duties related to food service and kitchen sanitation, including but not limited to:
Gathering items from the servery and kitchen for disposal or washing.
Scraping food from dirty dishes and placing them in racks.
Washing worktables, walls, and work areas, and any other necessary cleaning.
Setting up dishwashing and pot sink areas for service.
Disposing of trash, recycling boxes, cans and bottles in their proper receptacles.
Washing dishes, pots, pans, and any other necessary cleaning.
Cleaning and sanitizing equipment following all required state and federal guidelines.
Working occasional evenings and/or weekends as needed for special events.
Daily/weekly cleaning and side work to ensure the facility is clean and sanitary.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Dining Services or Head Chef.
Qualifications:
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate well with supervisor and co-workers, and students.
Strong work ethic, a customer service orientation and an enthusiastic personality.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must know or be capable of learning food sanitation and safety procedures.
Ability to follow directions in English, both written and oral.
