The Hartford s Information Protection (THIP) organization is looking for talented professionals to join a high-performing team that is charged with supporting and enhancing our core Directory Services platforms.
As a Directory Services engineer, this position will be part of the primary technical team tasked with engineering and maintaining directory services platforms including Active Directory, Active Roles Server (ARS) and HashiCorp Vault.
The individual will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction and use of the applications as they are currently deployed at the Hartford.
Additionally, the position will have broad accountabilities around currency and patching for all Directory Services technologies.
This role will provide thought leadership, professional support and valued contributions to a range of production support, development and project activities.
We are looking for an experienced professional, who has a breadth of knowledge and skills across various technical acumens, along with an understanding of industry best practices.
The right person will develop a deep understanding of the platforms usage and consumption, continuously advocate for automation and process efficiency, and where necessary challenge and influence management to take actions to appropriately utilize the systems.
The role is heavily focused on ensuring currency and stability in the environment.
The right person will have a wide-ranging technical knowledge with a desire to learn and grow their technical skills across the noted domains.
ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for performing and overseeing the execution of the following:
1) Technical Expert for engineering and support for Active Directory systems Includes monitoring overall health and well-being of the Active Directory environments, playing a key role on the current team as an ambassador for currency and stability, and analyzing and implementing required changes, patches and upgrades for Domain Controllers and various ancillary systems.
2) Technical support for DR and Cyber Resilience testing includes planning, testing and support activities for STM DR testing and Cyber Resilience recovery testing.
This includes review of current process and designing and implementing improvements and efficiencies.
3) Technical Support for various Directory Services technologies Accountable for helping the existing engineers with support of directory services technologies, including Active Directory / Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (ADLDS), OneIdentity Safeguard / Active Roles Server (ARS), HashiCorp Vault and Azure AD (Entra).
This work will range from production support to project related activities.
4) Process design / automation implementation Includes reviewing the current systems and processes associated with Directory Services and helping design more efficient and automated solutions where feasible.

Multiple years supporting Active DirectoryFluent in domain controller functionality and behaviorsStrong overall knowledge of Intel serversA track record in production support / system support activities.

Confidence to effectively influence others to modify their opinions, plans, or behaviors.

A successful candidate will possess some or all of the following background and experiences:
BS or MA in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market.
Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role.
The base pay is just one component of The Hartford s total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
The annualized base pay range for this role is:
