The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
Salary Range$136,100.

00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?As a AVP, Public Policy Initiatives, you will lead public policy initiatives and education campaigns within the Travelers Institute to further dialogue on issues impacting the insurance industry.
You have the opportunity to represent Travelers internally with employees and externally with the public, customers, agents/brokers and others to advance Travelers reputation in the community and in the marketplace.
You will lead a team that leverages Travelers' risk management expertise and build relationships across sectors (academia, government, business, civic organizations and more) to elevate public dialogue.

What Will You Do?Provides leadership to entire business area while inspiring commitment and pride in the work of the organization.
Oversees and builds ongoing relationships with key thought leaders, research organizations, trade groups and others leading dialogue on public policy issues of interest to the industry.
By partnering with leaders across business lines and functional areas, develops Institute initiatives that add value to the business and the community.
Influences leaders across the enterprise, driving engagement and collaboration.
Prioritizes and makes decisions on what issues and initiatives the Company takes on.
Responsible for public engagement and communications strategies, making decisions, building buy-in and consensus, and influencing decisions.
Maintains subject matter expertise on relevant public policy and economic issues.
Regularly speaks at external events/conferences and to the media on behalf of the Company on emerging issues/initiatives.
Presents to top agents and business relationships; engages with and advises field leadership on how to leverage activities for these groups.
Works closely with legal teams to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Oversees team compliance and documentation of protocols in this area.
Up to 30% travelPerform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Master's Degree preferred.
8-10 years of related work experience in public policy, legal, communications or marketing preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of public policy and economic issues, insurance industry, corporate responsibility or sustainability programs and public sector organization activities and operations preferred.
What is a Must Have?Bachelor's Degree required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
