Compensation OverviewThe annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
Salary Range$137,400.

00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?Travelers is pursuing a data engineering leader with experience in designing and maintaining solutions that increase data quality and the ability to monitor data solutions like pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes and the business insight capabilities they enable.
This Senior Director Data Engineer will mature the data observability and incident management process for the Claim analytics environment as the organization accelerates growth and transformation of our analytics environment to support new ways of data acquisition, processing, and support of our internal and external customers.

Job DescriptionAnalytic Environment Operations:
Partner with Engineering and Architecture to design and implement solutions for monitoring and observing data infrastructure and data pipelines to ensure desired performance, availability, reliability, scalability, and scalabilityEstablish a FinOps practice and continuously monitor technology infrastructure expense and partner with Architecture and Engineering to provide recommendations to control expenseResponsible for the health of the environment through production support processes including production environment and scheduled jobs monitoring and incident and problem managementManage the onboarding of recently deployed production assets to the Production support team for high level maintenance and support and ensure their adherence to Claim's Non-Function RequirementsProvide production metrics, insights, and improvement actions (tactical and strategic) of the Analytic environment utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Provide insight and improvement actions (tactical and strategic) of the analytic environmentMaintain currency of the Application Portfolio through Application Portfolio Management (APM) practicesStewardship of Disaster Recovery and Resilience plans in Enterprise One and ensuring that DR plans are up to datePerform data and system analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of moderate complexity and correct as appropriateTeam Leadership:

Six years of data engineering or equivalent experienceOne year of previous management experience.
