Summary:
Leads a group of attorneys who provide cost-effective, high-quality coverage advice, litigation management, and other legal
services
to the general liability field, public sector, and subrogation claim organizations. Serves as primary legal support contact for the general liability product team members and the general liability field claim organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provides strategic direction and legal advice to business partners, including Claim and Underwriting.
Ensures that attorneys in the organization develop and implement cost-effective legal strategies on complex claims, petitions or lawsuits.
Supports General Liability claim in large loss management efforts for field-based claims.
Maintains awareness of judicial climate, current case law decisions, and legal trends.
Acts as mentor and coach to both managers and individual performing attorneys in the group.
Manages human resources including staffing, progressive discipline, performance management, compensation, and development.
Serves on management team of Claim Legal Liability Group.

EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:
JD degree
CERTIFICATES/DEGREES:
Admitted to the Bar.
Experience:
10
years of property casualty insurance coverage advice and litigation
Coverage opinion drafting experience required.
Strong familiarity with general liability coverage required.
Appellate experience a plus.
Familiarity with construction claims and subrogation strongly preferred.
Litigation management experience strongly preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Strong and persuasive written, oral and presentation skills.

Strong PC skills, including WORD and EXCEL.
