Summary
The IT Business Management program was launched and is responsible for implementing a broad solution to improved end to end IT cost management, services costing, and consumption based modeling and management. Implementation of new service costing practices will accelerate a drive toward broader service management practices in IT. Costing changes will also have a marked impact on cost recovery methods and processes, and potentially changes to financial alignment to P/Ls. Change management will be a critical success factor in the programs execution.
This role will act as a key resource to plan and execute change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of new tools and practices, as well as prepare impacted roles for changes in responsibilities and accountabilities as new information in managing IT becomes available. This role will also design and develop the governance structure needed to manage the process on a go-forward basis. Various types of changes will be needed to manage and maintain the process and changes will need to be governed and approved appropriately.
A core component to the effort is driving change related to current cost models, metrics and utilization used for consumption metrics, and an ability to aggregate cost, consumption, and operational data in a meaningful manner. Developing a change management approach is key to the success of the effort, particularly related to educating people and areas on how work with change, and measuring the success of how change is occurring including follow up plans as necessary. Additionally, closely coupled with change management is defining a process and cadence to introduce and manage changes and activity related to this effort. This role will also contribute to core ITBM activities around data analysis and cleanup as needed in concert with core responsibilities. This role will be part of the core ITBM team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The two core responsibilities for this role include (1) design and execute a change management program to bring along stakeholders through successful implementation of the new IT service costing tool and process, and (2) Design and build out governance model to manage and maintain the tool and process on an ongoing basis post deployment.
- Provide process expertise and develop analyses of overall process and change management needs.
- Develop and implement approach and measurement strategy for change management activities.
- Provide data analysis approach and needs assessment on an on-going basis
- Understand desired best practices and define governance model necessary to maintain model and desired end state
- Understand end state end to end process desired to provide context for change management and governance needs
- Provide analysis of financial/expense information to support key business plans and results
- Assist in development of weekly and monthly production management reports.
- Directs the development of ad hoc financial/expense reports and analyses to meet senior
- Recommend improvements to efficiencies and competitiveness.
Education / Work Experience
Process engineering or process expertise background
Experience in change management practices and methodologies
Experience in insurance Financial Management or accounting.
Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, accounting and financial reporting.
Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and costing.
Supervisory experience. Clear, logical, and effective verbal/written communication skills. Strong PC skills, including LOTUS or EXCEL
