Position
Summary:
Responsible for operational activities in managing and supporting Assets/ IT equipment. Duties will include collaborating with desktop and mobility support teams in ordering hardware, software, and monitor inventory with detailed database reporting. Will perform installs with IT equipment at customer locations. Document, test and maintain PC's /Printers on the Local and Wide-area networks. Maintain BMC software tool inventory database and track all Configuration Items. Ensure all PC images are defined and loaded onto standardized devices. Reviews IT equipment specifications to match customer purchase orders and capital requests. Reports to IT Manager, Field Services.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Asset Management - maintains PC/ hardware inventory database and modifies data with adds and changes to ensure all equipment resources are accounted for at all times. Orders, receives, records and tags all incoming equipment.
Obtains quotes for hardware and software for customers through established vendors.
Performs moves, transports, installs, adds and changes PC hardware/software printers and peripherals to ensure that all equipment is optimized for maximum performance prior to installation. Configure, install, support and maintain PC hardware, printers, and monitors, (including PDA's, Smartphones, Pagers, Mobile Devices, VoIP endpoints and software.
Works with vendors to insure warranty work and purchase order requests are processed appropriately. Monitors purchase order requests in Smartstream database.
Creates work orders and incidents for equipment and distribution. Manage preparation for discarding computer and computer related equipment.
Supports and troubleshoots end user equipment problems. Escalates to appropriate resources and follows-up to ensure resolution to user/customer satisfied.
Develops and designs reports on the status of the Configuration Items environment, associatedprocedures for check in and check out of purchased equipment.
Ensures collaboration across functions to support customer/patient/ client needs.
Logs all support calls into the HelpDesk database to ensure all calls are tracked, responded to and closed in a timely manner per Service Level Agreements.
Attends training classes to enhance skills with current PC hardware and software technology advancements.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Additional Skills & Requirements)
BA/BS degree or 6-8 years of equivalent work experience required. A
certification or related experience preferred. Additional certifications highly desired. Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting MS Windows XP, 7 and Mobile operating systems.
Knowledge of Asset Management preferred and networking configuration (wired and wireless) and protocols is highly desirable.
One to three years' experience work in with MS Office and desktop applications. Client/Server applications experience required. Experience with mobile computing (iPhone, PDA, laptops, Tablet PC, etc,) desired.
Basic SQL maintenance experience preferred. Experience with configuration, installation and troubleshooting of PC and peripherals required. Basic programming skills required.
Demonstrated excellent human relations in verbal, interpersonal and written skills with the ability to work well in a diverse group. Must be well-organized in carrying out responsibilities, analyze hardware, draw conclusions and devise solutions to problems with minimal direction.
Professional appearance required and ability to drive to off site locations. Full time, 24x7 On-call to include Holidays and Weekends. On-Call Rotation with staff.
