Business Project Manager position within Business Insurance - Strategic Planning and Execution responsible for the end to end project delivery based on business goals and objectives to include overall accountability for any IT components.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
The Project Manager position resides in the Business and oversees and manages the total project lifecycle of their assigned projects from initiation through implementation and closure, including communications, training, and business implementation planning as well as all SDLC components. This role may also take over projects that are in-flight. Manages, plans, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects. Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Other Responsibilities/Duties include:
Excellent verbal, written, and collaborative skills required.
Must be able to drive progress in the face of ambiguous or changing situations.
Must be able to facilitate steering committees and stakeholders as well as ongoing project meetings
Must be able to navigate and be successful in a matrixed environment with dual reporting relationships to a Portfolio Manager as well as a PMO manager
Proven ability to manage without direct reports in a matrixed environment and influence others
Manage project budget
Experience within a formal PMO is a plus
Work
Experience:
Typically possesses a minimum of 3-7 years or more experience of Project/Program Management in the total Project Life Cycle managing small to medium sized projects or programs
Proven experience with Business process or development projects as well as those with an IT delivery component in a formal project delivery environment
Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred

Education/Course of study:
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Masters level degree desirable
PMP certification a plus
Formal Change Management knowledge and experience preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
