Summary:
The eBusiness organization is responsible to design, develop and maintain digital capabilities that enable Travelers to engage in a manner that attracts customers, builds loyalty and deepens relationships while differentiating the Travelers Experience. The eBusiness organization is looking for a Systems Analyst to join their team. This individual should have strong analytical abilities as well as a technical understanding of how applications work to support Travelers eBusiness vision.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Manages to the operational plan for assigned business systems projects
Oversees the development of business user specifications into cost-effective applications systems specifications.
Responsible for resource and staffing plans, work priorities and project management within established budget objectives
Provides the division, department and senior management with timely and accurate information regarding the performance of the assigned projects
Builds and leverages effective alliances across the technical and business community to ensure the best utilization of resources
REQUIRED
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years IT experience in a business analysis capacity.
4 year degree in related field
Solid verbal/written communication skills
Strong experience in documentation of systems, work/data flows, diagrams, process, other
Experience managing the application delivery process is a plus.
Experience in people, product and/or project management is a plus.
Experience working in a matrixed organization is a plus.
OTHER:
Technical Knowledge
Has a master level knowledge of the business that the assigned systems are supporting. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis. Uses this understanding to develop appropriate and timely solutions to daily issues. Has conceptual knowledge of varying technologies and the ability to make decisions based on that knowledge. Has thorough understanding of project staff roles and abilities

Creates an atmosphere where business partner's issues are dealt with professionally, and in a timely manner. Suggests solutions that make sense and optimize the value of systems resources. Communicates openly and effectively in a manner consistent with the audience. Recognizes the importance of superior quality in providing a competitive edge. Ensures that reports are precise, timely and accurate

Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with information that is available but must be further manipulated and with issues that are loosely defined. Once decisions are made, is able to follow and direct action to implement intended results. Breaks a problem down to manageable pieces and implements effective, timely solutions. Openly and directly confronts conflict until resolved. Optimizes the use of all available resources.

Builds relationships with peers to achieve objectives. Builds relationships with other departments to work as one team. Identifies project tasks that are most important and establishes a clear sense of priorities. Anticipates and effectively responds to changes in workload and resources.

Has input to the budget process, understands and is responsible for cost-effective expense control of assigned projects. Readjusts resources and/or staff to avoid delays and inefficiencies, and prevent failure to achieve results. Responsible for important and confidential information.
Human Resource Management
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills by displaying an understanding of the needs and perspective of others. Demonstrates a capacity to recognize, value and respect differences across a diverse work force. Responsible for the accurate, timely assessment of the skills and contributions of assigned project staff. Responsible for transferring technical skills/business knowledge to others
