Summary:
Plans at a strategic level encompassing both professional and managerial responsibility for the timely, cost effective completion of the design, development or implementation of all new development projects and maintenance and enhancement of highly complex information systems. Responsibilities have a cross-organizational impact.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Creates strategic technology plans for area of organizational responsibilities
Directs team to accomplish business, corporate and departmental goals and objectives
on the corresponding LOB management team and is responsible for all information systems support to the LOB
Recognized technology leader in the effort to utilize technology to develop and/or redesign the organization's process

Technical Knowledge
Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of organizational concepts and motivational methods. Has an intuition and a broad in-depth knowledge regarding the capabilities and direction of technology. Understands the corporate and departmental business objectives, and can relate them on a strategic, tactical and operational level to design technology solutions that provide a clear competitive business advantage
Business Knowledge & Partnership
Provides direction and effectively leads by example to ensure that all services are meeting the stated business objectives on a timely basis with excellent quality, at a reasonable cost. Keeps all areas informed of developments affecting their function. Demonstrates flexibility, anticipates customer needs, and effectively communicates in a manner consistent with the audience. Educates and influences customers on the most effective use of technology, from both a short-term and long-term perspective
Problem Solving & Decision Making
Demonstrates expert analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are often novel and not readily defined, lack known precedent or appear contradictory. Able to develop solutions by applying accepted processes or is able to create new approaches to leverage technology from abstract information. Sees the big picture, and is fully aware of technology and business directions. Has department, corporate and group objectives in focus while identifying and removing barriers. Optimizes the use of all available resources.
Team Orientation
Maintains effective partnerships across the organization and is able to influence senior management, peers and subordinates through an inclusive style and recognition of their abilities and knowledge. Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views. Gives and welcomes feedback.
Leadership
Manages multiple cross-functional objectives and/or priorities in support of a business department. Responsibilities are assigned with broad latitude for decisionmaking. Results reviewed periodically according to predefined objectives. Understands the departmental, corporate and group objectives and strives to meet or exceed them. Sets level of risk taking, and gathers/synthesizes information to all appropriate levels of the organization.
Planning and Project Management
Insures all planning done on the department level is supportive of the business strategic plans. Delegates appropriately while maintaining accountability. Sees that projects are assigned by workload and staff capabilities. Completes projects accurately and on time. Critical planning is required as modifications are difficult and costly and may impair achieving of departmental and corporate objectives. Change requires reassessing and adjusting strategic and/or tactical direction.
Financial Awareness
Has budget responsibility for an organizational unit of 20 to 80 employees and/or a budget of between $3M and $20M. Accounts for all fiscal budgeting and expense control for area of responsibility. Demonstrates sound cost-effectiveness. Failure to achieve objectives will have a significant negative impact on the department and business area. Is responsible for information of importance and disclosure could harm the overall financial position of the company.
Human Resource Management
Provides career growth for all direct and indirect reports by supporting technical and professional development/training, promotional opportunities, adequate support services, and challenging work assignments. Supports and facilitates people's efforts in a productive environment. Maintains a balance between people and organization. Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all performance evaluations and development planning. Demonstrates a capacity to recognize, value and respect differences across a diverse work force.
