Summary: The purpose of this position is to serve as a Security Specialist and as a point of contact on intelligence matters.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Connecticut Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Connecticut Army National Guard. AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
Area 2: All current members of the Connecticut Army National Guard and individuals eligible for membership in the Connecticut Army National Guard.
Must meet Compatible Military Assignment within one year from placement. Wear of the military uniform is mandatory. Direct Deposit is mandatory. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
The major duties include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a state security monitor
Implement security regulations through spot-checks or random sampling of classified defense documents
Develop procedures on emergency removal of plans
Perform other duties as assigned
GENERAL
Experience: Experience that has provided analytical, decision making,m or administrative skills which demonstrates the candidates ability to accomplish the work of an organization. This experience must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and successfully with others.
SPECIALIZED
Experience: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 24 months of specialized experience in the following:
Experience in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling base and law enforcement activities
Experience providing training in areas related to this position
Experience analyzing reports of investigations and maintaining security records
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED
Experience: A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been in fields directly related to Security Administration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to plan, direct, coordinate, supervise and control base and law enforcement activities.
Knowledge of security requirements established in legislation, regulations, and various policies and directives governing security police programs and systems.
Ability to train a group of security specialists and other employees.
Ability to conduct inspections of personnel, facilities, records and operational capability.
Ability to analyze reports of investigations and maintenance of security records, files, reports and forms.
Ability to maintain a harmonious work environment with others within and outside the organization.
Skilled in the use of protective devises, procedures and methods.
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.

Incentive Termination without Recoupment: If you accept an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) position or a Military Technician (Mil Tech) Permanent position where membership in the National Guard is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated with no recoupment as long as you have served at least 6 months of the bonus contract following receipt of the initial bonus payment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
