Business Development Manager

Position Overview/Summary
Responsible for direct and indirect sales bookings and revenue for a multifunctional business unit providing reciprocating engine energy solutions in the United States and Canada through a network of resellers in the reciprocating engine industry. Develop and maintain relationships with Business Partners to ensure unit sales and revenue targets are met while maintaining Dresser-Rand a Siemens Business' reputation as a premier supplier of reciprocating engine energy products. Safety, integrity, business acumen and exceptional customer service skills are of the utmost importance.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)
Required
BA/BS Required
Minimum five (5) years overall experience in the combined heat and power, power generation or reciprocating engine industry
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Minimum five (5) years of B2B industrial sales experience preferably in a reseller channel environment
Proven experience hunting for and closing business with new customers
Optimistic, resilient, humbly confident, trustworthy and competitive
A proven team player
Proven experience in successfully leading, mentoring and training sales organizations or equivalent industrial sales experience
Proficient in CRM tools
Proven ability to effectively root-cause and resolve issues
Successful negotiator
Demonstrated leadership experience
Proven ability to obtain and exceed growth objectives

Position Responsibilities and Duties
Meet or exceed channel sales revenue, profitability and new customer acquisition goals
Develop Business Partner plans and strategies for building a robust channel sales pipeline
Review Business Partner plans and facilitate quarterly reviews to ensure sales targets are met, issues are identified and resolved and relationships are maintained
Set quotas with Business Partners that are in line with corporate objectives
Ensure Business Partners have adequate support and ongoing training/education to effectively sell Dresser-Rand A Siemens Business' engine products
Successfully reconcile the voice of the channel with company's abilities and objectives to achieve the highest customer satisfaction, maximize market share and meet objectives
Provide feedback to Management and R&D as to market needs as related to product development
Develop and maintain legal agreements with Business Partners in line with the company's Business Partner program
Review and successfully negotiate contracts in alignment with Company's terms and conditions
Work with engineering to assist customers in correct application of Dresser-Rand's products
Identify and onboard new Business Partners
Knowledge of the latest policies and programs that impact the industry
Monitor the market for emerging opportunities and position company for effective engagement
Attend market-focused conferences and exhibitions
Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in CHP, Distributed Generation, biofuel, specialty fuel and mechanical drive reciprocating engine industries
Properly identify, pursue and close OEM prospects
Develop relationships with employees at all levels including executives within Business Partner network
Work with the Regional Director to ensure long-term business strategies are consistent with Company's business plan
Surveys competitive landscape and develop effective strategies to best position Company and its Business Partners for success
Timely and accurate generation of proposals and processing of customer requests
Develop and execute yearly sales plan
Maximize intercompany cross-selling opportunities
